Visiting Theatre Royal

The Theatre Royal Plymouth has three performance venues and a Production and Learning centre, situated across two locations.

The theatre, at the west end of Royal Parade in the city centre, contains our three auditoria: The Lyric with a capacity of 1320, The Drum – a flexible studio space with a capacity of up to 175, and The Lab – a creative space for emerging artists and communities.

The theatre also hosts our restaurant, bars and café.

Getting here

The Theatre

The Theatre is located at the West End of Royal Parade in the city centre and contains our three auditoria; The Lyric, The Drum and The Lab. The Theatre is approximately 15 minutes walk from the train station and 10 minutes walk from the bus station – although most local buses stop on Royal Parade.

Production and Learning centre, TR2

Our Production and Learning centre is situated at TR2 on the Plym estuary in Cattedown, Plymouth approximately 2 miles from the city centre. Unfortunately, this area is not well served by public transport but is approximately 25 minutes walk from the city centre. There is on-site, free parking.

Parking

There are three Pay and Display car parks close to the Theatre and limited free parking at our Production and Learning centre at TR2. Disabled spaces at TR2 are located adjacent to the main entrance.
